IPC Media has raised employee awareness of mouth cancer by giving staff tips on how to maintain good oral health.

Timed to coincide with Mouth Cancer Awareness Week which took place last week, employees were given literature on oral health and travel toothbrushes by representatives of HSF Health Plan manning a stand in the staff canteen. They were also warned of the dangers of failing to †have regular health check-ups with a dentist.

Reward manager at the media firm, Ashley Bestwick, said: “There was a lot of interest [in the stand] and I think the event was very successful. It is important for an employers to show commitment to staff and go beyond the duty of care that is normally observed in business.”

As part of its healthcare benefits offering, IPC Media provides its employees with an HSF health plan.
