Employees at an Indian zoo, which breeds tigers, panthers and crocodiles, have launched a strike over pay and health care benefits.
According to reports, casual workers said that their job involves risks, so they believe they should receive health and social security benefits.
However authorities claim to have arrangements in place should a 'mishap' occur.
The Nandankanan Zoological Park employees also said their pay of 2,100 rupees per month is inadequate, it is claimed.
Closer to home, London Zoo has had no shortage of applicants for its 50 seasonal jobs.
An estimated 400 applicants queued up to apply for posts in the gift shop and canteen, more than double the usual number.
The jobs pay between £8.80 and £10 an hour but do not include working with the animals.
