A group of independent reward consultants have established a new professional body, the Independent Reward Consultants’ Association (IRCA), to promote the interests of its members and clients.

The IRCA has been set up to promote collaboration, knowledge, learning and professional development between members whilst developing a forum for advancing new ideas in reward among consultants, practitioners and academics.

Two founder members, Michael Rose and Paul Bissell, were formerly vice presidents, reward for the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD), and all are chartered members, fellows or companions of the institute.

Other members have been involved in groundbreaking initiatives in recent years, which have led to Employee Benefits and other industry awards for reward excellence. In particular, Chris Wilson and Michael Rose were consecutive winners of the Employee Benefits Compensation and Benefits Professional of the Year award in 2008 and 2009 respectively.

The IRCA plans to host events in the future, form partnerships with other entities and extend membership on an associate basis to a limited number of independent reward consultants.
