Something for the weekend: Whether you are clock watching for your lunch hour or whether you get the munchies mid-afternoon, being hungry at work can impact your mood, with 34% of respondents feeling stressed when hungry, according to research by Tastecard.
The survey of 1007 Brits also found that HR professionals are the most likely to feel angry because they are hungry, or ‘hangry’, with 93% of HR respondents feeling hangry at least once a week.
The research also found:
- 42% of respondents feel irritable when hangry, and 41% feel frustrated.
- 26% of respondents have broken a diet while hangry.
- 40% of respondents feel hangriest between breakfast and lunch.
- 83% of male respondents feel hangry at least once a week, compared to 77% of female respondents.
- 91% of 18-24-year-old respondents are hangry at least once a week.
- 31% of 18-24-year-old respondents have had an argument when hangry.
- 21% of respondents in media and marketing have thrown a tantrum when hungry.
