EXCLUSIVE: Home Retail Group, the parent company of Argos, Habitat and Homebase, has increased staff spend through its employee discounts scheme since it switched providers in February.
Since launching the new scheme two months ago, the retailer, which has 44,000 staff across the UK, has seen around 11,000 employees register to participate. Almost £300,000 was spent in the first month, representing a ten-fold increase on the overall total spend through its previous scheme.
The scheme, which is provided by Asperity Employee Benefits, was communicated using teaser postcards sent to each employee’s home address, followed by a letter announcing the details of the new benefits scheme on launch day. Information packs were also sent to managers at each of Home Retail Group’s 1,700 stores, containing posters, pens and information to help them champion the new programme to staff.
Debbie Cam, colleague services manager at Home Retail Group, said: “The huge increase in employee spend and take-up reveals the scope of the savings potential and we’re delighted that the launch has been so successful.”
