The Guide Dogs for the Blind Association is to launch a voluntary benefits scheme and seek staff feedback about perks as a precursor to introducing flexible benefits.
When the voluntary scheme goes live this month, the organisation's 1,050 employees will be invited to say, via surveys and focus groups, what benefits they would like to see in their reward package in the future. This will help the association to ensure its benefits meet its employees' needs and achieve a better return on investment from its reward spend.
The voluntary benefits scheme, provided by Benefex, will include discounts from retailers such as Marks and Spencer, Comet, iTunes and Argos. Sarah McKenna, head of HR services at the charity, said: "We chose to launch voluntary benefits first because it is a good news story that introduces employees to the concept of choice within the reward package - something we aim to build on in the future.
"We felt incorporating a feedback process into this launch is a great way to get the lines of communication open and ensure we make the right decisions for employees going forward."
