Employers are using benefits fairs to increase take up of perks.
The Grimsby Institute of Further and Higher Education is to run its first benefits fair to help generate interest around its perks.
The organisation has invited its benefits providers, such as Specsavers, consultants Jardine Lloyd Thompson, and in-house reward staff, from departments such as occupational health and pensions, to host stalls at the fair. Here they will explain to its 1,300 employees how the perks operate and what the advantages are of taking them up.
Peter Barnard, registrar and corporation clerk at the Institute, explained: "We want to keep all the benefits communication fresh, and get as many employees as we can in front of the providers so they can get to know the product that is being offered."
The organisation also plans to ask employees to fill out a benefits questionnaire at the fair.
York Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust will also run a benefits fair for employees this month.
A total of 28 providers offering products such as childcare vouchers and cycle-to-work schemes will be on hand to speak with staff and help raise awareness of the trust's benefits package.
Teena Wiseman, staff benefits manager, said: "This will be an opportunity for employees to speak to benefit professionals and get as much information as they need."
