Grant Thornton is launching an employee benefits consultancy.
Grant Thornton Employee Benefits Consultancy will provide employee remuneration and pension advice, and arrangements to larger pension funds, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and professional firms.
The consultancy will design benefit and reward structures, pension scheme restructuring, the harmonisation of cross-border benefits including qualifying regulated overseas pensions schemes, and offshore pension planning for employees of multi-national organisations.
Ian Hartnell, head of employee benefits at Grant Thornton Benefits Consultancy, said: "I am delighted to be leading this exciting new business opportunity for the firm. In an increasingly globalised world where the worldwide talent pools are growing more competitive, we are witnessing employers struggling with numerous issues surrounding staff retention.
“We are well positioned to provide a comprehensive employee benefits package that meets the demands of today's employers including employer-sponsored pension arrangements.”
Clive Fathers, head of employer solutions at Grant Thornton UK, added: "We have decided to launch this new benefits offering at a time when more and more defined benefit pension arrangements are closing to new members.
“The replacement of these schemes with money purchase arrangement does cause employee and employer both a great deal of unrest and uncertainty. We believe we can deliver a fully comprehensive employee benefits package that works efficiently for both employee and employers.”
