The Food and Drink Federation (FDF) has launched a free toolkit for employers to use to encourage their employees to lead a healthier lifestyle.
Expert adviser on health at work at the Department of Health Dame Carol Black launched the toolkit at Coca-Cola Great Britain’s head office in Hammersmith during last week's World Day for Health and Safety at Work 2012.
Director of Food Safety & Science at FDF Barbara Gallani commented: “Under the Public Health Responsibility Deal, FDF pledged to take action to improve public health. In many cases this included a commitment to improve employee health.”
Dame Carol Black added: “There is a wealth of evidence that shows having a healthy, engaged workforce brings clear benefits, for employees and business alike, with improved quality and productivity. Government alone cannot tackle the major public health problems this country is facing.
“The food and drink industry has a strong track record on workplace wellbeing, with many of FDF’s members having already signed up for the Public Health Responsibility Deal.”
