Law firm Trowers & Hamlins plans to launch a flexible benefits scheme to employees in an attempt to remain competitive in regard to the recruitment and retention of staff.

The company aims to launch the flex scheme in January next year, and benefits could include holiday trading arrangements and also life cover.

Staff are also likely to be given the opportunity to make contributions through salary sacrifice into the firm's group personal pension.

The employer already offers childcare benefits, life assurance and private health insurance to its UK workforce of 590 employees.

Diana Lindley, compensation and benefits manager, said that the law firm is thinking of launching the scheme in order to continue to compete effectively when recruiting new employees by showing that it is a "caring, sharing employer".

The organisation also offers a number of flexible working options for employees. Those who have two or more years' service are given the opportunity to take a career break, while all employees can apply to work part time or job share with colleagues.
