The women here at the employeebenefits.co.uk offices were aghast to hear that stationary manufacturer Bic has launched a tool specifically for them, namely a pen ‘reserved for women’.
We agree that it is important that employers provide employees with the correct equipment to be able to carry out their jobs effectively, but so far we have coped rather well with the ‘male’ pens that have been on offer for centuries.
However, any female workers who may have been struggling to use the standard biros available in the office stationary cupboard, the ‘Bic Cristal for Her’ has been designed with a thinner barrel to offer better handling for women.
Available in a tinted barrel of pink, purple, blue, green or orange, Bic promises these pens will provide women with a smooth writing experience.
A Bic spokeswomen said: “We’re delighted to have brought a bit of much-needed glamour to stationary cupboards everywhere.”
