?Nomura has introduced a flexible benefits scheme to improve employee choice and make its benefits package more accessible for its 3,500 UK staff.
The scheme, administered by Vebnet, went live on 1 October. Almost half (49%) of the investment bank’s staff have submitted a choice.
Marianne Nugent, benefits manager at Nomura, said: “It was partly about improving choice, making the existing benefits more visible and accessible, and streamlining administration processes.”
Existing benefits include: life assurance, personal accident insurance, childcare vouchers, health screening, gym membership and a group personal pension (GPP) plan.
New benefits include: dental insurance, bikes for work, computers, health screening and life assurance for partners, holiday purchase up to four days, and travel insurance.
The flexible benefits scheme was communicated to Nomura’s staff via emails, a media wall and booklets. Some of the providers, including Cyclescheme for bikes for work and Let’s Connect for the computers, made workplace presentations as well.
