Home Retail Group has hosted an interactive benefits roadshow for its 18,000 Homebase employees to raise awareness around its one-year-old voluntary benefits scheme.
The three-day event, which took place from 28 February to 1 March, resulted in eleven-times more new registrations, compared to the previous week, and weekly log-ins to the benefits website were up by 56%, from 429 to 668.
The roadshow, which coincided with Homebase’s busiest period, included a sweet treats theme with retro pic and mix available. Representatives from provider Personal Group donned candy-striped aprons and hats, and answered questions about the voluntary benefits scheme.
Employees could also enter a prize draw to win £250-worth of hotel vouchers. The group promotes the benefits programme through regular newsletters, e-promotions and competitions.
Debbie Cam, colleague services manager at Home Retail Group, said: “Times are hard and we are a low-cost retailer. Promotion of our benefits, and particularly things where employees can save money, is really important to us so our staff can really understand what is available to them to make their pay go further.”
