?Medical reporting firm Capita Health and Wellbeing, part of the Capita Group, has rolled out a fully-paid health screening programme for its 800 staff as part of a wider initiative to engage employees in their health and wellness.
Health screenings, provided by Screenetics, have been taken up by 144 employees to date.
Staff were told about the new perk during a series of wellness days between October 2011 and January 2012, when they had the opportunity to burn calories on Screenetics’ juice bike, enter a competition to win an extra day of annual leave by guessing their metabolic age, and receive reminder communications about other healthcare benefits, such as discounted gym membership.
Jo Sharp, business support manager at Capita Health and Wellbeing, said: “We have a relatively high number of young people working in the business.
“I have been impressed by the amount of staff who have been screened so far, as I thought it might be quite difficult to engage them with their health. I am passionate about benefits that promote long-term healthy living. Staff have found the sessions educational, enjoyable and informative.”
