Law firm Eversheds has relaunched its second-opinion medical service and aligned it with its private medical insurance (PMI) scheme.

The Best Doctors service, which allows employees to seek a second opinion on any medical diagnosis, was first launched in May 2010.

The relaunch took place in March, with communications via posters and the company intranet. Provider Best Doctors also ran roadshows at the law firm’s nine UK offices.

Peter Bond, HR reward adviser at Eversheds, said: “We wanted to create more awareness and understanding of the service, and to enhance our health education offering.

“We also wanted to link up the service with our PMI scheme as a joined-up approach to assist employees through every stage of an illness.”

The PMI scheme, which is offered via provider Axa PPP Healthcare to the firm’s 2,800 employees, has a take-up of 80%.
