EXCLUSIVE: Equiniti Group is building a harmonised health and wellbeing strategy, as well as educating its HR team about health-related absence management.

The benefits administrator began harmonising its health strategy earlier this year by combining its private medical insurance (PMI) scheme with an employee assistance programme (EAP), rolling out an online health and wellbeing portal called Be Healthy, and sending out monthly emails about its healthcare benefits.

The online portal includes a questionnaire to gather data about which health and wellbeing benefits its 3,500 employees are accessing.

Clancy Murphy, group HR director at Equiniti Group, said: “When employees first log on, they have to fill out a questionnaire. Our provider, Axa PPP Healthcare, has reviewed that and is coming up with suggestions of benefits we might want do introduce.”

Equiniti will work with Axa PPP Healthcare’s medical team to determine the next phase of initiatives, which could include onsite wellbeing days and access to doctors.

It will also run a one-day training session in August with its HR team on absence management. “It will help the team understand the link between absence and health,” said Murphy.
