The Environment Agency is looking into offering a flexible benefits scheme.

The government body is currently putting a proposal together for its directors, which will be ready by January 2007.

Vicki Hearn, benefits officer, explained: "We are looking at proposals [to see] whether [flex is] an option."

The Agency added discounts on clothing made from recyclable materials to its voluntary benefits plan in November.

It is also looking at introducing a bike scheme and is implementing flexible retirement.
