Linking benefits to the culture of an organisation, taking a creative approach to the language used in communications and the personal touch were all qualities in entries that impressed the Employee Benefits Awards 2013 judges.

For Jane Earnshaw, head of reward and recognition at Asda, BSkyB’s iPad benefit particularly stood out, while Martin Todd, head of reward and policy at Grant Thornton, was impressed by Marks and Spencer’s use of its Percy Pig character throughout its pension communications.
