Something for the weekend…

Most often than not, end-of-year bonuses have some form of monetary value be that gift cards or a cash bonus to reward employees.

But this wasn’t the case for one Chinese real estate firm which decided to think outside of the box as part of its Chinese New Year celebrations.

Before giving out employees their reward, staff were set a motivational challenge to carry live pigs down a specially marked track.

If successful, they then had to kiss the animal and pose for pictures.

And the end of year bonus? To take home the bacon, literally.

Perhaps that’s one way to link bonuses to performance, although how motivating it will be going into the new year remains to be seen.
