As Blackberry use is added to the list of workplace hazards and law firm Robert Jackson tells employers to expect lawsuits from staff seeking compensation, organisations could be under increased pressure to adapt their health and wellbeing packages to cope with sore thumbs.

Perhaps employers could provide free physiotherapy sessions dedicated to sore hands or discounted membership to a ‘finger gym’ containing miniature weights to limber up employees’ digits to cope with remote emailing.

Another solution to 'Blackberry thumb' may be to introduce a blanket ban on emails a couple of times a week, meaning employees will have to pick up the phone and talk to each other like the good old days.
