Something for the weekend: Working from home with pets can be a distracting time for many, so much so that a written complaint has been logged in one particular household.
Andrew and Sheila, who have been regularly working from home since the Covid-19 (Coronavirus) pandemic, have been experiencing some blatant distractions and awful cat-itude from their feline co-worker.
To stay paws-itive throughout the pandemic, Andrew took it upon himself to address the situation with their co-worker, Penelope, the cat.
On behalf of the in-house HR team, Andrew presented Penelope with a letter, it read: "Penelope, this letter serves to formally document your failure to comply with household regulations, and your lack of adherence to workspace polices.
"You have been a great contributor to workplace morale and have been meeting your quota with regards to cuteness and chasing hair ties.
"However, your continual insistence on attempting to (or succeeding in), shutting off the power strip and computer in the middle of work hours, insistence on stepping on the keyboard during critical business events and general mayhem have resulted in significant loss of productivity.
"We value your contribution to the household, but you must demonstrate an immediate and permanent alteration to your workplace habits or you may face more severe repercussions, up to and including withholding treats."
Andrew thought that the letter would bring out the brighter side of working from home. Sheila mentioned that as a household supervisor, she would have no paw-blem putting her signature on it.
Here at Employee Benefits, we expect to see Penelope on purr-fect behaviour following on from being handed a formal complaint from HR.
