After a 60-year ban on beards, Disney is finally allowing facial hair to sprout within the walls of its magic kingdoms.
Employees at its theme parks in Florida and California will be able to come to work sporting a beard or goatee, providing the bristle is less than quarter of an inch long.
This follows a 2010 review of female attire which brought an end to the obligatory wearing of tights with skirts and made allowances for sleeveless tops.
Speaking to the Los Angeles Times, a spokesperson for Disneyland Resorts, said: "Disney's look guidelines are periodically reviewed in relation to industry standards, as well as the unique environment of our theme parks and resorts.
"While we are careful to maintain our heritage and the integrity of our brand, a recent review of our guidelines led to a decision that an update was appropriate at this time."
The move will boost the wellbeing of furry-faced male employees who will no doubt be relieved that Disney has let its hair down over the issue…
