Davis Langdon is piloting a GP clinic for its 600 employees based in its London office.
The service, which was introduced in December, is paid for by the international construction and property consultancy and will run for at least six months before a decision is taken on whether to roll it out to the company's other offices. During this time, a GP will be onsite for one afternoon a week.
Paula Bates, head of HR operations, said the scheme was not intended to replace employees' own GPs. "[Staff can use it if they] can't get an appointment with their GP or it is something that it is easier for them to pop in and deal with while they are still at work rather than taking half a day off. It just makes it convenient for them to be able to see someone onsite.
"If it works well, we have other large offices where we could justify having [a GP] coming in, [so] we might try it in other places," Bates added.
Four employees visited the GP clinic during the first afternoon that the service was available.
