It would appear that sex discrimination and gender equality laws have failed to reach a man-made island that is shaped like a high-heeled shoe in the Maldives.

Lithuanian firm Oilalia wants to staff the planned luxury resort on the island with only blonde women.

But Maldivian laws state that at least 50% of any foreign organisation's staff must be from the local population. While there are no shortage of blondes in Lithuania, very few locals from the Indian ocean islands have blonde hair

The firm, however, has said it will provide employees with wigs to address this problem. The EB team wonders whether staff will be adequately compensated for this 'hairesy.'
