KENT County Council has moved its staff club, which offers discounts on entertainment, online in order to make it easier for employees to access the perk and to cut administration levels.

The council bulk buys tickets for events such as West End shows and concerts, and then passes the savings on to staff through the club.

Via the new online system, staff can book tickets instantly using a debit or credit card, whereas previously they had to download a booking form from the council's intranet site and send it to the council to place the order.

Moving the scheme online will also enable the council to track how popular events are, and purchase more tickets to meet demand where necessary.

Jane Vivier, reward adviser, said: "We want people to see the events straight away and see how many tickets are left. We can be reactive as well now so we can buy more tickets if they go quickly."
