The most likely reason for an employer to introduce a corporate platform would be as part of an overall review of benefits, according to research by The Platforum.

The Corporate platform guide, published in June, showed 27% would do so as a bolt-on to existing benefits and technology, and 24% would do it with a review of technology, such as that required for auto-enrolment. A further 12% of respondents would launch a corporate platform to extend the services of a current provider, while 9% would do so in conjunction with a new pension scheme.

The report also found the most important features or objectives of a platform for the employer were that these increase awareness, take-up and the appreciation of financial benefits.
