Using an organisation's intranet system to communicate benefits is a cost-effective way of providing a comprehensive benefits information service for staff. However, try to make it entertaining and interesting for employees to use, as nobody wants to read pages of text online.†

Some intranets offer a chat room facility for staff to discuss specific issues, such as the launch of a share scheme, or access to pension modelling tools to help employees work out what difference it would make if they were to increase their pension contributions.
