The government's mutual joint-venture arrangement, My Civil Service Pension (MyCSP), has appointed Prudential to provide a defined benefit (DB) pension scheme for its 500 UK-based staff.

MyCSP was launched in April 2012 as the first cross-government shared service.

Martyn Bogira, head of corporate pensions at Prudential, said: “We are thrilled to have been chosen as the pension provider for the government’s first mutual.

“Pensions are an important aspect of any workplace benefit, and employees are more conscious of what they include than ever before.

“Since our appointment, one of our top priorities has been to help MyCSP employees fully understand their new pension, helping them experience a smooth transition from one scheme to the other.”

Phil Bartlett, chief executive officer at MyCSP, added: “I’m delighted that MyCSP has agreed a contract with Prudential to offer all our employee partners access to a world-class pension, through the Prudential Platinum Plus scheme.”
