Chester and District Housing Trust (CDHT) has launched a healthcare cash plan for its 275 employees.
For the past four years, CDHT has held health clinics four times a year and provided an occupational health unit onsite once a month, but the healthcare cash plan is the first it has implemented.
The plan includes, to a yearly maximum, dental and optical care subsidies, diagnostic tests, and complementary and alternative therapies. Additionally, staff can take advantage of online health screening, a counselling helpline, expert medical opinion and a discounted gym membership.
Partners can be added to the scheme for a premium paid for by the employee and dependent children are partly covered by the premiums funded by CDHT. Employees can upgrade their benefits by paying an additional premium, which includes cover for partners.
In addition to offering this cash plan through Medicash, CDHT promotes a work-life balance policy that includes opportunities to work from home and flexible or term-time hours.
Su Bramley, deputy chief executive of CDHT, said: “Medicash has worked with us to come up with a comprehensive package specifically designed to meet our needs.
“We are committed to investing in our staff and ensuring they feel valued. The Medicash plan gives people real peace of mind and really complements our longer-term HR strategies.”
