Financial services firm Cardif Pinnacle is holding a week-long health and wellbeing event for its 640 staff at its Borehamwood site.

The company will launch the event by informing employees about healthy-eating options in the on-site canteen.
Throughout the week in July, staff will have the option of attending one-hour lunchtime seminars highlighting topics such as nutrition, digestive health, complementary medicine and stress management using neuro-linguistic programming (NLP), which helps people “re-programme” their minds to deal with challenging situations.

Employees at Cardif Pinnacle’s sister company, Financial Telemarketing Services, will also be invited to attend the event.

Vicky Rose, senior reward and benefits adviser at Cardif Pinnacle, said: “I have been carrying out research on health and wellbeing, and how it can reduce sickness [at work]. I think it is important to communicate our health culture to employees.”

The firm has invited a number of healthcare providers to host stands and talk to staff during the week. These will include Accor, which will talk to staff about eye care; Virgin Active, which will test people’s blood pressure and body fat; Axa Icas, which will provide information on stress; and WeightWatchers, which will run workshops on nutrition.

The events will be communicated to staff using the firm’s intranet site, desk drops and posters.
Cardif Pinnacle plans to hold similar events at its Norfolk site within the next two months.
