Employees at Bupa International have raised more than £1,000 for the British Red Cross Haiti earthquake appeal after the insurer organised a dress-down day.
Staff raised £565 through donations to the appeal, which were given so they could come into work wearing casual clothing instead of business dress. The amount of money raised will be matched by the employer, bringing the total amount to £1,130.
Bupa International, managing director, Alistair How, said: “When we heard about the disaster in Haiti, everyone at Bupa International wanted to do something to help.
"Bupa International will match all the funds raised, and along with our £20,000 donation to Medecins Sans Frontieres’s Haiti appeal, we hope the people of Haiti receive the aid they so desperately need.”
