BAE Systems, BT, Electrocomponents, Royal Dutch Shell, Tesco and Vodafone are among the organisations that have been shortlisted for the IFS Proshare Annual Awards 2011.
Electrocomponents is a finalist in the ‘Most effective communication of an employee share plan (1,001 – 15,000 employees)’ category, for the clear and concise communication of its sharesave scheme, which resulted in increased participation in 2011.
The communication included an enhanced promotion of the plan, both online and via email, an increase in the identification of the scheme with the organisation’s total reward and benefits package, and the introduction of employee helpdesks at Electrocomponents’ main sites.
Ian Haslegrave, general counsel and company secretary at Electrocomponents, said: “The increase in the take-up of the sharesave scheme has been a great achievement, particularly given the current economic climate.
“This is a testament to the cooperation between several internal teams to successfully raise the profile of both the scheme and its benefits.”
John Collison, head of employee share ownership at IFS Proshare, added: “This year’s awards attracted an incredible response, both in terms of the number of entries and the overall quality, which was very impressive.
“This made the shortlisting process particularly difficult, and those organisations that have made the shortlist have really excelled to get this far, and can stand proud in their accomplishment.”
The IFS Proshare Annual Awards 2011 will be presented on Wednesday 30 November 2011 in London. Employee Benefits' deputy editor, Debbie Lovewell, was one of the judges.
