More Energy, the fitness centre based at Brunel University, held a Green Travel Day to encourage its staff, students and the general public to improve their carbon footprint, become more environmentally friendly and be healthier.

One of Brunel University's aims is to promote the health aspects of walking or cycling to work.

More Energy conducted a free prize draw giving staff and students the chance of winning a mountain bike. Fitness professionals were also on hand throughout the day to give fitness tips and hand out free seven-day passes to be used to try out the facility on campus.

Alan Gallacher, director of corporate fitness oragnisation Energy Fitness Professionals, said: “This event proved to be a good way to dismantle the obstacles individuals face as barriers to exercising and I am very proud of the success of the day.”
