Browne Jacobson is to launch an online voluntary benefits scheme that groups together its existing voluntary benefits, and introduce a salary sacrifice arrangement for the group personal pension scheme for its 511 employees.
The online voluntary benefits system My Benefits, which goes live on 1 July, is the first step in the law firm’s new four-year benefits strategy. Its next step, in 2012, will be to reinvest the savings from the salary sacrifice arrangements into implementing a flexible benefits scheme.
Kelly Tatton, HR adviser at Browne Jacobson, said: “We needed a four-year strategy, not just to compensate for the [2012] pension reforms, but to look at how we engage, retain and recruit employees, recognising diversity and flexibility.”
The My Benefits scheme, provided by Portus Online, will group together childcare vouchers, holiday trading, private medical insurance for employees’ families, bikes for work and pensions.
The changes were made after Browne Jacobson carried out an employee engagement and benefits review survey in January, which asked staff how interested they would be in salary sacrifice arrangements.
