Birmingham Airport has appointed Barnett Waddingham to provide actuarial and administrative services for its defined benefit (DB) pension scheme.
The actuary and consultancy firm already provides investment services for the scheme.
Joe Kelly, deputy chief executive officer at Birmingham Airport, said: “We carried out a rigorous tender process, asking prospective service providers to demonstrate how they could provide a proactive, efficient, cost-effective and high-quality service.
“Barnett Waddingham put together a strong proposal and we look forwarding to building on the relationship we already have with it.”
Robert Hawkes, partner at Barnett Waddingham, added: “We look forward to expanding our relationship with Birmingham Airport.
“Our priority will be to ensure that the scheme’s members really appreciate their pension, and that we support the trustees by being proactive and providing value for money.”
