BDO Stoy Hayward has revamped its flexible benefits scheme to offer staff the chance to contribute into its occupational defined contribution pension from their flex allowance via salary sacrifice.
To encourage saving, staff who decide to make extra voluntary contributions, will receive an additional 10% of their total contribution in 'special employer contributions' into their pension.
This will be paid out of the 12.8% national insurance saving that the employer makes when staff pay pension contributions via salary sacrifice.
The firm has also added a cycle-to-work plan and mobile phones to the flex scheme.
All staff who purchase a bicycle from their flex fund through salary sacrifice will also be provided with a free cycle helmet.
Becky Moss, benefits analyst at the firm, said: "This works well with what we are doing with carbon offsetting and becoming more carbon neutral. There has already been a lot of interest among staff."
A mobile phone option had previously been offered to staff as an ad-hoc benefit, but is now available through the flex package as a salary sacrifice benefit.
The flex scheme has also been rebranded and communicated to staff via a road show, booklets and a flexible benefits website.
