B.Braun Medical held a week-long bespoke activity event for staff, featuring sessions such as self-defence classes and relaxation techniques.
The Sheffield-based healthcare organisation, which employs 550 members of staff, sought to engage employees in activities that targeted work-related and personal development, as well as work-life balance.
The ‘Learnfest’ week took place between Monday 18 July and Friday 22 July 2016, with 154 employees taking part.
Activities included sessions on magic mastery, cupcake creativity, relaxation techniques, self-defence, different languages and circus skills.
Employees also learnt more about their individual learning styles, gaining tips on how the brain works to promote learning more quickly, helping to retain more information and concentrate for longer.
Hans Hux, group chief executive at B.Braun Medical, said: “Learnfest is a great example of B.Braun’s commitment to employee development both inside and outside of work. It is an opportunity for employees to engage in an array of fun and educational activities, and learn from people highly skilled in their particular field.
“Each session during the week has been carefully considered so there is a balance between the more entertaining and the more informative classes, and we hope there is something for everyone to enjoy and get involved in.
“Our employees are key to the [organisation’s] growth and success, so I feel it is particularly important to support and reward them, investing in both their personal and career development.”
