Barnett Waddingham has launched a free health check to help employers and pension trustees examine how they are managing pension governanceissues.

The health check is in response to The Pension Regulator’s (TPR) latest governance report, which highlighted that pensions governance was lacking in certain areas.

It aims to:

  • Help employers and trustees to identify areas of improvement.
  • Establish whether employers and trustees have the right governance arrangements in place.
  • Help employers and trustees to meet the expectations of TPR.

Shirley Jackson (pictured), partner at Barnett Waddingham, said: “Governance has become an increasingly important focus for TPR over the past few years. The burden on trustees is now very high, and it is easy for them not to be aware of the current best practice or for some matters to be missed.

“Our health check will enable [employers and] trustees to maximise the effectiveness of their governance procedures by highlighting issues early so they can take action.”
