BAE Systems has opened an occupational health and wellbeing facility at its military air and information site in Samlesbury.

The facility is reflective of the defence, security and aerospace firms’ aim to adopt a holistic approach to the health and wellness of its 4,000 staff.

It provides a range of services for employees, including occupational health advisors and nurses, a physiotherapist, counseling, a chiropodist, an optician and a dentist. The site also includes a 300-seat restaurant and a coffee shop.

Cliff Robson, industrial capability director for BAE Systems, military air and information, said: “This fantastic new facility, alongside the other investments we’ve made on the site, is a clear statement that BAE Systems and Samlesbury is here for the long term.

“We are investing in our people and their future. It’s about making sure we have the right equipment and the right facilities for our people now and in years to come.”
