BAA has introduced eyecare vouchers for its visual display users (VDU) in all seven of its UK airports. The company, which employs 14,000 staff will provide eyecare vouchers to VDU users at Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted, Southampton, Aberdeen and Edinburgh.

Staff requiring an eye test will be provided with an employer-funded voucher that covers the cost of an eye test and a pair of glasses up to the value of £45, if needed by individuals to read their computer screen at work.

BAA believes that providing eyecare via vouchers will be cost effective and will reduce the administrative burden on the airport operator.

Specsavers is providing the vouchers and has stores across the UK so BAA staff will have access to a consistent service, wherever they are based.
