Asda has appointed a new provider to supply its staff with healthcare cash plans.

The supermarket's 165,000 employees can now purchase cash plans provided by the Leeds Hospital Fund (LHF), which was appointed in July.

The cash plans provide cash back for a range of treatments, including dental and optical care, physiotherapy and complementary therapies. Premiums start from £1.95 a week.

Representatives from LHF will visit Asda sites around the UK to give employees information about the benefit. Details of the plans will be made available online and staff will be given healthcare cash plan toolkits. Jane Earnshaw, reward manager at Asda, said: "We were searching for a tangible benefit that our staff would find really useful."
