Airwave Solutions has received the Pension Quality Mark (PQM) Plus from the National Association of Pension Funds (NAPF) for its group stakeholder pension scheme.
The provider of communications to the emergency services has had the pension scheme in place since 2007, when it was de-merged from the O2 group of organisations.
The scheme, provided by Punter Southall, includes contributions that exceed those previously offered within O2’s defined contribution (DC) pension scheme, as well as the contribution levels required to achieve PQM Plus. Contributions are also available via a salary sacrifice arrangement, with Airwave Solutions’ net savings being applied entirely for the benefit of the scheme membership.
Geoff Smith, group HR director at Airwave Solutions, said: “The Airwave pension committee has worked hard to ensure that the scheme’s design, communication and governance met the exacting standards required by the Pension Quality Mark.
“It is only awarded to employers who provide their employees with high quality pension schemes. We are therefore delighted that ours has been recognised with this independent quality award”.
Joanne Segars, chief executive at the NAPF, added: “Airwave Solutions is offering a fantastic pension with a contribution level that matches, and even exceeds, the high standard set by PQM Plus.
“People need to wake up to the importance of saving for their retirement, and schemes like this can make all the difference.”
