Adidas has added a dental plan, travel insurance, critical illness insurance and life assurance for employees’ partners to its voluntary benefits scheme.

The new benefits, launched on 1 July, are all available to staff and their families. The firm already offered life assurance for employees but has added optional cover for partners or spouses.

The employee-paid benefits are offered via salary deduction, and are available to the sports retailers’ 1,200 UK staff as long as they are on at least a 12-month contract.

The new perks are part of Adidas’ work-life balance strategy. Carol Bryson, compensation and benefits manager, said: “They are at very competitive rates. There is a lot of choice for staff.”

Dental cover is offered at four levels, travel insurance can be European or worldwide, and critical illness and life assurance can be purchased in sums of £10,000.

Roadshows were held at Adidas’ head office in Stockport, the Trafford Park distribution centre in Manchester, and its London office. Bupa is providing all the new benefits.
