Ace European Group has revamped its personal accident and holiday travel insurance policies to tailor them for flexible benefits schemes.

Both products were relaunched in February with enhancements. For example, they allow employees to alter their cover part-way through the year in the event of lifestyle changes, such as marriage or redundancy.

Gary Murphy, Ace's product and business development manager, accident and health, partnerships, said: "Lifestyle events are fairly common in the flex market, but not all insurers will allow the insured person to change their cover on travel when there is a lifestyle event."

Another change is a reduced range of health exclusions, so a wider range of staff can select them without needing health screening. Employers can offer two degrees of cover, enhanced or core, so staff can flex up or down.

Payout benefits have been updated and rates reviewed to ensure they remain competitive.
