Employers looking to save money on employee benefits should take inspiration from organisations with a limited benefits budget.
Janet Mckenzie (pictured), reward manager at B&Q, will explain how in a session titled Bang for your buck: Keeping your employees happy on a limited benefits budget at Employee Benefits Connect on 27 February.
She said: “If employees don’t know that benefits exist, then money is already being wasted.
“Making sure employees understand is the starting point.”
Other messages Mckenzie will cover during the session will include:
- Why employers should identify what employees want.
- Why employers should consider how benefits are offered and promoted.
- How to communicate benefits to employees.
Mckenzie added: “It’s about helping employees make the most of the money they have.
“In retail, we have got a responsibility to make sure that we can make the most of our money and not spend lots on benefits with shiny bells and whistles on them.
“Voluntary benefits are a good way forward.”
Employee Benefits Connect will be held at the Westminster Park Plaza on 27 February.
