Something for the weekend…
The chief executive officer (CEO) and co-founder of Yemeksepeti, a Turkish food delivery firm, has rewarded 140 of its 370 employees with a shared bonus of more than £17 million.
CEO Nevzat Aydin gave staff the bonus after selling Yemeksepeti to German food delivery service Delivery Hero for £378 million in May. They will receive around £152,000 each.
The amount each worker will receive has been determined by their length of service, contribution to the organisation’s success and the impact they will have on its future.
Nevzat Aydin said: “I believe in team work and that success is much more enjoyable and glorious when shared with the rest of the team.
“This bonus was secured for the team prior to the acquisition. They definitely deserve it, and I can’t imagine it any other way.”
At Employee Benefits, we’re wondering how we can earn such a bonus…
