Something for the weekend…

Houses-of-Parliament-istock-2015

While the government and its Members of Parliament (MPs) are committed to a number of austerity cuts, changes to pension schemes and the move away from childcare vouchers, everyone might wonder just how they stay healthy, fit and stress free.

It seems that the best way of doing so is using a plush new on-site gym at the Houses of Parliament.

And it seems Parliament has not held back on its improvements, which will see new equipment, a new spinning studio and a sauna for the gym.

It will be fully refurbished in the next week or so, after which the gym will be accessible to MPs, peers, their staff and journalists who work in Parliament.

The total cost is forecast to be £1,081,379.

With that in mind, let’s hope it has the desired effect of invigorating and energising MPs during tough policy decisions.
