Europa Road names first human resources business partner

Road freight firm Europa Road has promoted Nathalie De Preetere (pictured) to the newly created position of human resources business partner.

She will lead specifically on the strategic development for HR across the group to support its growing team in Belgium, which now stands at 36 members of staff. The role was also created to assist in supporting, motivating, and inspiring the growing team.

Located in Oostende, De Preetere will establish the policies and procedures designed to ensure a fair, safe and productive work environment. She will be focused on overseeing its Belgian HR strategies to help create an engaged team, as well as working closely with the UK-based team.

De Preetere said: “I am especially looking forward to seeing the positive impacts that my new position will have within the business functions. Having previously worked with Continental Cargo Carriers, I have a solid understanding of the principal foundations that the business is built on, and what is valued and important to the team here at Europa Road.

“I am looking forward to helping the business expand into Western Europe, and to see how we can continue to develop the HR business strategies in line with Europa’s overarching vision to become bigger, better and bolder.”

Carlo Turner, non-network and continent director and leader of the Belgium team, added: “We need to ensure that our team in Western Europe has a central point of contact for HR which is pivotal to the business. It is also important that as a business we ensure we’re sensitive to cultural issues and differences that crossing boundaries and borders may have. As Europa Road continues to expand its dedicated Western European team, we look forward to what lies ahead for us in the future.”
