Stenn appoints first chief people and culture officer

Global small to medium enterprise (SME) financing platform Stenn has appointed Fozia Raja (pictured) as its first chief people and culture officer as it builds a central team from its new head offices in London.

Raja will be responsible for leading the people strategy and will report directly to founder and chief executive officer Greg Karpovsky. She will spearhead recruitment and employee experience to ensure that Stenn continues to attract and retain the best talent across the business.

With more than 15 years of human resources experience, Raja joined the business after more than seven years at Sprinklr, the software as a service unified customer experience management platform. As vice president of culture and talent, she helped it scale from a few 100 employees to just under 4,000.

According to Stenn, this role will support its expansion plans, ensuring that a strong and unified culture is developed and maintained.

Karpovsky said: “As we continue to develop our unique offering for SMEs around the globe, we have to ensure that we are attracting the best people whilst developing a high-performance culture. Fozia brings some fantastic experience from start-ups on a similar journey, which will be crucial for the exciting growth plans we have underway.”

Raja added: “Joining Stenn at this pivotal moment in its growth is really exciting; I’m so impressed with what Greg and the team have already achieved here. I was drawn to the fact that Greg is committed to creating a category leading platform for our customers. During our conversations it was clear we’ll only achieve that mission if we commit to building a high-performing culture, an environment in which our employees can be at their best both personally and professionally, and I’m looking forward to driving that mandate.”

Stenn also hired Carl Robson as director for people and culture. With his experience in scaling technology organisations, he will support Raja in building the business’ HR capabilities globally.
