Marketing firm cuts fleet costs

Field marketing agency FDS Group has cut insurance costs in half after it outsourced the fleet management of its company car scheme. The introduction of 12-month, 30,000 mile leasing contracts for high mileage drivers, incorporating revised insurance premiums, allowed the company to cut its insurance spend by 50%. FDS Group believed the outsourcing of its 250 cars, run by fleet firm Inspire Fleet Solutions, removed the burden of accident management and allowed the firm to focus on core activities.

There is now a driver hotline for accidents, breakdown and recovery services and a web booking facility. The firm said it could now source cars at short notice, and reduce off-road delays following accidents.
